Will the TASKalfa 408ci + DP-5100 Work With Your Setup?

What does the DP-5100 add? It adds a 75-sheet automatic document feeder for copying and scanning. Without a document processor, originals must be placed on the glass one page at a time.

Does the DP-5100 scan both sides automatically? Yes. It is a reversing feeder, so it flips each page to scan the second side. However, it scans more slowly than single-pass dual-scan feeders such as the DP-5120 (120 ipm) or DP-5130 (170 ipm).

Does it fax out of the box? No. Fax requires the optional Fax System 10 board and an analogue phone line. Scan-to-email and network folders cover most document sending without it.

Does it have Wi-Fi? Kyocera’s European datasheet lists Wi-Fi as the optional IB-35 interface. Gigabit Ethernet is standard, so most offices connect it by cable.

Can it print A3? No. The 408ci is an A4 device. For A3 colour copying, consider a TASKalfa A3 model instead.

How long does the toner last? Black toner lasts about 24,000 pages and each colour about 18,000 pages at 5% coverage. Heavy colour graphics will use toner faster.
