The HP ProDesk 2 Tower G1i E is a business tower desktop built around a 14th-generation Intel Core i5-14500 processor. It handles office suites, accounting software, web apps and video calls without slowing down. It suits small businesses, offices, computer labs and students who want an upgradeable desktop PC.
Key Features & Benefits
- 14-core Intel Core i5-14500 processor: With 14 cores, 20 threads and up to 5.0 GHz boost, it runs many apps at once. As a result, large spreadsheets, browser tabs and Teams calls stay responsive together.
- 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD: The system boots and opens files far faster than a hard-drive PC. Additionally, a spare 3.5-inch bay lets you add a large HDD for archives or backups.
- DDR5 memory with a free slot: It ships with one 8 GB DDR5-4800 module in one of two slots. You can therefore add a second module later as workloads grow.
- Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and Gigabit Ethernet: You can connect by cable or wirelessly, so there is no need to run network cables to every desk. For instance, wireless headsets and keyboards pair directly over Bluetooth.
- Business security features: TPM 2.0, a padlock loop and cable-lock support help protect data and hardware. This matters in shared offices, reception areas and school labs.

Will It Work With Your Setup?
Does the HP ProDesk 2 Tower G1i E come with Windows? No. This B6ZD9ET model ships with FreeDOS. You need to buy and install a Windows 11 licence separately. The hardware, including TPM 2.0, meets Windows 11 requirements.
Is 8 GB RAM enough? It is enough for office work, browsing and online classes. However, heavy multitasking runs better with 16 GB. Adding a second 8 GB DDR5 module uses the free slot and enables dual-channel memory.
Can I connect two monitors? Yes. Use the HDMI 1.4b and DisplayPort 1.4a outputs together. Note that HDMI 1.4b limits 4K output to 30 Hz, so use DisplayPort for a 4K 60 Hz screen.
Can I add a graphics card? There is a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot. However, the 180 W power supply only suits low-power cards that draw power from the slot. Cards needing external power connectors are not suitable without a PSU change.
Is this an AI PC or Copilot+ PC? No. The Core i5-14500 does not have a dedicated NPU. It still runs cloud AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot in the browser.
How does it compare to a mini PC or all-in-one? A tower takes more desk space. However, it offers a DVD drive, a 3.5-inch bay, PCIe slots and easier repairs. Mini PCs and all-in-ones are compact but harder to upgrade.
Does it include a monitor? No. A keyboard and mouse are included, but the monitor is sold separately.
